Grubb could not be reached for comment.
Purvis, 42, has tallied three career victories -- including a dominant one earlier this season in Richard Childress' No. 21 Chevy -- in 174 career NBS starts. Purvis has 24 top-five and 56 top-ten finishes in his Busch Series career and has earned over $2.9 million.
"I've watched Brewco Motorsports since they started racing," Purvis said. "I've always wanted to drive for Clarence (Brewer Jr.) because they put a quality racecar on the track every week. Brewco Motorsports is close to home and this is a good situation for me."
Todd Wilkerson, president and general manager of Brewco Motorsports, is excited about the prospects of having a veteran like Purvis man the No. 37 Chevy, which Grubb had driven full-time since 1998.
"Everybody at Brewco Motorsports is excited about Jeff driving," Wilkerson said. "To get Jeff Purvis is a really big deal for us. We wanted a veteran driver who could help a younger driver and, now with Jeff, we have that driver.

"Jeff and Jamie (McMurray, driver of Brewco's No. 27 cars) will work great together. Having Jeff Purvis on board is a good fit for us and we're looking forward to an exciting 2002 season."
Purvis started the 2001 season in Joe Gibbs' No. 18 Pontiacs, but was released from the team after they scaled back their two-car operation to a one-car team.
He then jumped from team-to-team, eventually landing at RCR, where he dominated the Busch Series event at Pikes Peak International Raceway to give the Rockwell Automation team their first and only victory to date.
