A source close to Welliver-Jesel Motorsports told NASCAR.com Thursday that David Green, driver of the No. 34 AFG Industries Chevrolet, has been given his release papers, effective after this weekend's NASCAR Busch Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The sponsorship of that car is also ending following the GNC Live Well 300.
Welliver-Jesel is in negotiations with several companies, but without a commitment, they won't be able to continue the team.
Meanwhile, the organization took delivery Wednesday of its first superspeedway Dodge chassis, initiating its complete changeover to Intrepids in 2002. WJM is the first team to commitment to Dodge without factory support for the Busch Series.
However, WJM anticipates 2002 programs for Casey Mears in the No. 66 and Hank Parker Jr. in No. 36.
