The Buzz: Nov. 25, 2001

All three of driver Ricky Rudd's Robert Yates Racing over-the-wall crewmen that were injured in a pit road accident Nov. 11 have been back to visit the team's shop, including tire changer Bobby Burrell, 30, who was the most severely injured.

The Buzz: Nov. 25, 2001

Burrell was knocked unconscious and suffered head injuries when Ward Burton's out-of-control Dodge struck he and his teammates as they made a tire change during the Pennzoil Freedom 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Burrell was moved to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., on Friday, Nov. 16 from a hospital in Miami where he was airlifted immediately after the accident.

Burrell made a brief visit to the Yates Racing shop on Tuesday, Nov. 20 -- the day after he was released to his home from the Charlotte hospital. Tire carrier Kevin Hall and jackman John Bryan, both 31, have made a couple visits apiece to the shop.

There has been no pressure put on the three to return to a regular work schedule and their "rest and recovery" period continues indefinitely.
