The race car that was stolen from the Robert Yates Racing Engines shop in Mooresville, N.C., in late September still has not been recovered.

The car, which was mainly used for dyno chassis work, was owned by Petty Enterprises and was in the care of Yates when it was stolen. The car was in an enclosed trailer and the thieves simply hooked the trailer up and towed it away.

Mooresville police confirmed on Monday that the car had not been recovered. The car and trailer are valued at $200,000.
