Gordon previously won the GT1 class at sports car race, driving for Roush Racing. Among the other stock car racers who have announced they will compete in the event at Daytona International Speedway are Tony Stewart and Wally Dallenbach, who will drive prototype cars and Kyle Petty, John Andretti, Jeff Burton and Rick Carelli, who are driving different GT class cars.

Gordon plans to attend the Rolex 24 test days at Daytona Jan. 3-5, before working out his No. 31 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolets at the first Winston Cup test at Daytona Jan. 7-9.
