Action Performance Companies has commemorated the career of the legendary Dale Earnhardt with a special seven-piece collectible ensemble.
The Dale Earnhardt Winston Cup Champion 1:64 Platinum Set is being offered through RCCA and includes seven platinum-plated die-cast cars honoring each of Earnhardt's seven NASCAR Winston Cup titles.
The replicas represent the cars the Intimidator drove during each of his championship years: 1980, 1986, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1993 and 1994. Team- and sponsor-specific graphics are applied over the platinum-plated body shell using the tried-and-true Tampo printing process. The cars are based on the standard 1:64 scale tool and do not have opening hood or trunk.
The set comes with a handsome display case worthy of such a unique collectible. Production is limited to only 5004 sets.
"Platinum is a precious metal -- even more precious than gold," said RCCA brand manager Terry Rubritz. "We feel it is only fitting for a Dale Earnhardt Championship product. One of the neat things about this set is that includes both the No. 2 car that he drove in 1980 and the No. 3 cars that he later drove for Richard Childress. You seldom see sets that have the No. 2 and the No. 3 cars."
Price of the Dale Earnhardt Winston Cup Champion 1:64 Platinum Set is $229 plus shipping. To order, call toll free: 800-952-0708.
