Bill Wilburn knows exactly what's expected in his new role as Rusty Wallace's crew chief.

"Stay competitive, win races and try to win the championship," Wallace said. "We have a championship-caliber team. We just need to work on doing the same good job we've always done. I think that we have the personnel to do just that."

Wilburn, who joined Penske Racing in 1992, worked on a part-time basis the last two seasons while he pursued driving opportunities with his own Sprint car team.

Wilburn has turned the daily Sprint team operations over to brother Mark and hired Johnny Herrera as the driver.

"I might climb back behind the wheel when we have a weekend off, but other than that, I have all the confidence in the world that my brother and Johnny can handle this deal," Wilburn said.
