Rumors are swirling around a possible one-race Daytona 500 deal that would put ARCA ace Kirk Shelmerdine in a Hooters-sponsored Ford with No. 80 on the side.

Hooters sponsored the car that the late Alan Kulwicki drove to the 1992 Winston Cup championship.

Even though the chain hasn't been seen in Winston Cup recently, Hooters has kept its roots in racing as the title sponsor for the United Speed Alliance Racing Pro Cup Series.
