Jimmy Makar doubled his Winston Cup championship experience in 2000 by leading Bobby Labonte and team owner Joe Gibbs to their first Winston Cup titles. Makar, former Winston Cup champion Dale Jarrett's brother-in-law, was a key member of Rusty Wallace's 1989 championship team. He is given much of the credit for putting together Gibbs' massively successful racing operation, as he was one of Gibbs' first employees when he formed his race team in 1991.
