Matt Chambers entered his first Winston Cup season in 2001 riding a tremendous crest of momentum created when he and one-year partner Kurt Busch earned the rookie of the year title in the Craftsman Truck Series and second in the championship. Chambers, a veteran of Roush Racing's truck program, engineered four wins and three pole positions for Busch, whose first CTS start came in the season opener at Daytona. The combination may be the favorite for the rookie of the year award.
