Todd Parrott realized in 2000 just how precious the chemistry and consistency of a championship team is. In 1999 Parrott, who had experienced a Winston Cup championship first with Rusty Wallace in 1989, engineered the title for Robert Yates Racing and Dale Jarrett with a remarkable and competitive run of consistency. The son of legendary mechanic Buddy Parrott saw how that fine line could be crossed in 2000 as a few off-pace runs and mechanical problems knocked them back to fourth in points.
