Hank Parker Jr. has his best chance to succeed in the Busch Series in 2001 with the well-established Cicci-Welliver Racing organization, where he will drive the No. 36 Chevrolet. In 2000, only his second full season he started 32 races.
Parker Jr. flirted with the top-10 in the standings before falling back to a career best 14th. He scored his first career pole at Las Vegas and tallied two top-5s and eight top-10 finishes including a season best fourth at Pikes Peak International Raceway. He led once for four laps at California, driving the No. 53 Chevrolets for car owner and father Hank Parker, the noted TV angler.
Parker Jr. began racing in karts and quickly moved into Street Stocks and Late Model Stock Cars at Concord (N.C.) Motorsport Park. In the Slim Jim All Pro Series he scored three wins and two poles over two seasons, 1996-97.
