Kevin Lepage made 10 Busch Series starts in 2000 while running a full season in the Winston Cup Series for Jack Roush, but when his ride went away at the end of the season, Lepage rallied to his own Busch program with plans to run a limited number of races in the No. 71 Chevrolet in 2001 in conjunction with co-owner and crew chief Steve Plattenberger.
Lepage, a native of Shelburne, Vt., finished a season-best third at Atlanta, one of two top-10s he scored. He started eighth at Charlotte. Lepage, who has two career Busch Series victories, was consistent enough in his short log of races to average a 20th place start and an 18th place finish.
Lepage raced in the Northeast for more than 14 years in a variety of Late Model stock car venues before he made a move south. He finished second in the 1998 Winston Cup Rookie of the Year race.
