Shane Hall is badly in need of a career rebuild after an abortive 2000 campaign with Alumni Motorsports, and Hensley Racing's fortunes are also in need of recharging so their match could be one of good timing.

Hall, who had two career poles and a best finish of fourth at Myrtle Beach, S.C., heading into the 2000 season, made only two starts last season. The troubled Alumni team released him after making one of the first six races.

Hall, a childhood friend of fellow Busch Series driver Jason Keller, began his racing career in karts and won a WKA national championship in 1985. He was the Slim Jim All Pro Series pole champion in 1993 and registered one victory in the All Pro Series, in 1994.
