 PERSONAL PROFILE

Hometown: Mobile, AL.
Birthdate: July 26, 1958

Rick Crawford will have a full season in 2001 with long-time chief mechanic Ray Stonkus and the pair that previously teamed in the Slim Jim All Pro Series is seriously looking at bettering Crawford's career best 11th place finish in the points in Tom Mitchell's Circle Bar Racing Ford.

Up-and-down would characterize the 2000 season for Crawford, 42, but like the previous year the season ended on a high note for the native of Mobile, Ala., who owns a single CTS victory, at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 1998 for long-time team owner and sponsor Tom Mitchell. Crawford picked up his late season performance enough to ensure a career best finish of 11th in the point standings.

Crawford reunited with Stonkus and immediately finished third at Dover Downs International Speedway, then added a sixth place finish at Texas Motor Speedway and is eagerly awaiting an opportunity to better their 2000 record of a dozen top-10 finishes. The driver remains a hands-on component of Circle Bar Racing in the team manager's role, but Crawford is used to running his own operation, having done so for many years in the Slim Jim All Pro Series. In the SJAPS, Crawford won five times, including three victories in 1996, when he finished third in SJAPS point standings.
