A member of the legendary "Alabama Gang," Farmer won three consecutive NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division championships from 1969-71. Farmer's best finish in the NASCAR Winston Cup division was fourth in the 1968 Middle Georgia 500, the first race of the "1968" season -- although it actually took place November 12, 1967. Farmer won numerous track championships in his adopted state of Alabama and competed well into his 60s.
