 Harry Gant
NASCAR Winston Cup
Career: 1973-94

Before 1991, Gant was known throughout the NASCAR Winston Cup Series garage area as "Handsome Harry." In 1991, he earned the nickname, "Mr. September" for winning four consecutive NASCAR Winston Cup Series races that month (Darlington Raceway, Richmond International Raceway, Dover Downs and Martinsville Speedway), tying the modern era (1972-present) record. He also won two NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division races during that time. The 1991 season was Gant's most successful, finishing a career-high fourth in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series points chase, winning five races, one pole position, tallying 15 top-five and 17 top-10 finishes as well as leading the field in laps led with 1,684. In 1995, Gant was inducted into Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway's Court of Legends.
