Beginning its fifth year of operation, California Speedway has grown into one of the premier auto racing venues in the country, hosting two major racing weekends, which are the largest attended sporting events in the state.
Also included in the April weekend are the NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division drivers, competing in the Auto Club 300 on Saturday, April 28. Kenseth made it back-to-back Auto Club 300 wins last year with a dominating performance. Rounding out the activities on Saturday is a 200-mile NASCAR

Winston West Series Pontiac WideTrack Grand Prix 200 and a concert followed by fireworks in the infield. In November, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series closes out its season schedule at California. Greg Biffle had the title locked up before getting to Fontana, but his teammate, Kurt Busch, still had plenty to prove. Busch claimed the pole and went on to win the race, using it as a springboard to his 2001 Winston Cup debut. With the addition of 5,500 new grandstand seats, bringing the capacity to approximately 92,000 and 1,700 infield RV locations, California is a great place to watch a race and experience the thrills of NASCAR. In addition, numerous hospitality areas are available for those seeking to entertain clients or just looking to add a little extra something into an already exciting day. Situated on the site of the former Kaiser Steel mill, California Speedway is located approximately 40 miles east of Los Angeles
and is accessible by major freeways (Interstates 10 and 15) and two major airports, Ontario International and Los Angeles International. |
