The enormous facility includes a one-mile oval -- surrounded by a seven-furlong horse racing track -- seating for 67,000 fans, 42 luxury skybox suites, and 40 hospitality chalets. Inside the oval is a midway that accommodate 35,000 fans and host concerts and other events. It's one of only a pair of dual-purpose racing facilities in the country (Dover (Del.) Downs International Speedway was the first).    The track's first major event was the Target Grand Prix in August 1999, featuring Al Unser Jr., Michael Andretti and more. Track owners expect to host three major events each year.
Location: The speedway is located at 3301 South Laramie Avenue in Cicero, one-half mile north of the Stevenson Expressway (I-55), just 7 miles from downtown Chicago.
